Music for orchestra
My hobby for years has been writing music for orchestra, and I put together a playlist of some of the music I have written.
I am not sure whether my musical ideas are actually getting better, but my orchestration and production has improved quite a bit over the last few years, and so the more recent tracks should sound a bit more polished (and hopefully, more realistic).
This was all produced “in the box”, using sample libraries. My favourite libraries have changed a bit over the years, but at the moment the stalwarts of my template are:
- Strings: Cinematic Studio Strings is my main library, I also have Appassionata and recently got Pacific which I am just getting into
- Woodwinds: for strings and brass I go back and forth on what I like a bit, but for woodwinds Cinematic Studio Winds has always seemed far better than everything else to me (I do also own both Cinewinds and the original Berlin Winds, but I never really use them, with the exception of some of the Berlin Soloists which are still very good).
- Brass: Cinematic Studio Brass (you may be noticing a pattern here, and the Cinematic Studio stuff is great if you like the sound, I find it very easy to use) for most things, and Cinebrass sometimes
- Percussion: I got Cineperc in the black friday sales last year and it’s great, hard to imagine needing anything else at this point
